Do I need to bring anything to the swim sessions?

Other than you swimwear and a good pair of goggles you will also get the most benefit out of the training sessions if you also bring:
  1. Pull Bouy
  2. Swim Training Fins
  3. Kickboard (these can be provided poolside but you may prefer your own)

Which goggles are recommended for swimming?

As a club we don't officially endorse any brand of goggles. Goggles are also very user specific as the fit/seal depends on the shape of someone eye socket. However, for information we have various members who use the following googles and seem to be happy with them.
  1. Arena Cobra Ultra - These are a very popular google, they seal well and the Swipe version have very good anti-mist technology. They are low profile so are well suited to racing, however because of this some people can find them uncomfortable for training sessions.
  2. Speedo Futura Biofuse - Again very popular googles, especially among those who want a good seal with comfort.

Note: Most googles will lose their anti-mist capabilities, some quite quickly, but this can be solved by using anti-mist spray. There are anti-mist spray products available like Quick Spit, but it's cheaper to get some no tears baby shampoo and mix a solution of it and water into a spray bottle. Just spray on and rinse well before your swim.
